Also, Hamelin (Plantagenet) de Warenne, 4th Earl of Surrey is a historical figure; this is obviously a fictional depiction of him, though aspects of his real-life situation have been incorporated into his character. My sources say that he was more commonly known as the Comte de Warenne during his lifetime, but I’ve chosen to use his jure uxoris title of the Earl of Surrey. The Earls of Derby and Chester are also historical but given fictional treatment here.

Explanation for this AU: Everything follows the canon of the show up to the end of the tenth episode of the second season, “Walkabout.” The last three episodes never happened in this universe. So, where do we leave off? ( spoilers for Walkabout )

Also, trying to fit the timeline of the show with actual history is a nightmare, so I’m taking some liberties. Be warned, medieval buffs. (Though, if you’re watching the show, it’s nothing worse than what Dominic Minghella’s already done.)
